Ozzy Osbourne has warned youngsters to shun drugs after Cory Monteith`s death
The Black Sabbath rocker has battled his own addictions for years, and admitted the fact he had survived shouldn`t mean people assume they can live the same way.
The `Glee` star died of a heroin and alcohol overdose and was found in his hotel room eight days ago - and Ozzy is keen young people don`t make the same mistakes.
He told the Sunday People newspaper: "I went through all that and I survived. But I haven`t got that many friends who I used to do it with. They`re all dead ... I`m living on borrowed time.
"Don`t think that if Ozzy Osbourne can stay alive through it, that you can. It doesn`t work like that."
The `Changes` singer explained he used to think drugs and alcohol boosted his creativity but realised it was "a load of c**p".
He said: "I used to think that I couldn`t write songs or perform without a drug or a drink inside me and that`s just a load of c**p.
"You don`t need alcohol and you don`t need drugs to make music and have fun.
"In recent months I had another go at it and it nearly destroyed me again."
